Law Professor B.J. Priester (FanGirl Blog) joins us to share the ins and outs of public domain and trademarks, especially as it applies to beloved characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse. It has been 95 years since the introduction of Disney’s iconic mice and Tigger, which means anyone can use these characters without Disney’s consent. However, it’s a bit more complicated, and so much more interesting, than that, so BJ helps to break it all down, as only a lawyer can! 

 

This weekend was the runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon at Disneyland! The FIRST one in SEVEN years! Sarah ran the Disneyland 10k and has stories, thoughts and pictures to share. We recorded this episode on Richard’s birthday, so please wish our illustrious co-host a happy one!
