330: Happy Star Wars Month! Star Wars 1977 vs. The Phantom Menace 1999

Celebrate Star Wars (1977) and The Phantom Menace (1999) opening anniversaries - hear some great stories from these 2 releases. We also compare and contrast the movie marketing, critic reviews and general zeitgeist surrounding each film. The juxtaposition is fascinating!   Richard and I share our stories, but we also asked you to write in your stories on our Facebook Post. With 60+ comments, we tried to share as many as we could. Here is a sample:   We went to see Star Wars in ‘77 and we sat in the fourth row. When some kids who were younger than us sat down in front of us, we told them that those first three rows were reserved for critics. They moved and we had an unobstructed view of cinema history in the making. For Phantom Menace, I had always said the first film I would take my daughter to see was going to be a Star Wars film. She was two years old in ‘99 and she sat on my lap and, I kid you not, didn’t make a sound, and never took her eyes off the screen!! For...

Galaxy's Edge Over Quarantine

Hey Hey Skywalkers, in lieu of an episode of Skywalking through Neverland this week, we want to play you the audio from our most recent video, Galaxy’s Edge Over Quarantine!   We had so much content from our trip to Disneyland, that we wanted to take the time to craft and share a very special video.   Just like us, the citizens of Black Spire Outpost here in Batuu West have been in quarantine. What did they do with their time? Did Oga still require payments and kick-backs? What are their safety precautions? Did Kylo Ren have to wear a face mask?    We asked various citizens to weigh in on these hard-hitting questions, some were more than happy to share stories and up-to-date news, some ran in fear. You can see the complete video on our YouTube channel, where we’d love to see your comments! We hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it.   We’ll be back next week with another fun-filled episode of Skywalking Through Neverland!  ...

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier , the 2nd Disney+ Original Marvel series, just wrapped up on April 23. Was this on par with WandaVision? Did it exceed expectations? What about the message? We talk about impactful moments, favorite characters and how Zemo can bust a move. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is yet another great Marvel series.   The Skywalking Network will represent at Disneyland’s Grand Reopening this Friday April 30th!
