On March 5, 1979, principal photography began in Finse, Norway for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Mark Newbold of Fantha Tracks visited these icy plains. He stood on the grounds where Luke Skywalker was attacked by a wampa, he walked the snowy terrain where the great AT-AT battle took place, and he got to play in the snow with Darth Vader and his Imperial troops.
