343: Star Wars Visions Dancing In Our Heads

Star Wars Visions is here!     Star Wars Visions just premiered on Disney+, and it’s time to delve deep into the messages, music and magnificence of these nine anime-inspired short films from Japanese studios. Din of the band F-105 joins us with some terrific insight. In fact, each of us came from 3 unique perspectives, and changed each other’s minds on ones we didn’t initially care for. Sarah brought musical insight, Din brought story-telling and philosophy, Richard brought his film-making and easter egg-hunting skills, it was a fascinating Super-Size discussion. Perhaps this conversation will also inspire you!   This is a Super-Size episode, so you can listen to it for two weeks (we will also be taking off next week due to our traveling schedule). In the meantime, please check out our NEW YouTube Daily Series: TODAY IN STAR WARS HISTORY. Your daily Star Wars history lesson! It’s time to start the Halloween anticipation with TWO Disney Halloween Parties - DCA’s Oogie Boogie Bash and WDW’s After Hours Boo Bash. The names may be similar, but the parties were quite different. Each is a separate ticketed event held at a Disney Park, complete with Treat Trails, themed characters, food and entertainment. We welcome Meredith Duckworth (newest member of the Skywalking Force) on the show to tell us about her Boo Bash experience, while we recount our first night at the Oogie Boogie Bash!    Oogie Boogie Bash 2021 at DCA brought us ALL NEW villains - Agatha Harkness (WandaVision), Sid (Toy Story) and Cruella (Emma Stone’s Cruella). This may put it over-the-top, but listen to this episode, then watch our video , and you be the judge.   Light-Up Zero Halloween Giveaway! 341: "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" with Bryan Lee

SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS has arrived, smashing box office records. Cosplayer, graphic designer and LiningUp.net friend Bryan Lee attended the World Premiere in Hollywood dressed as Shang-Chi, and he joins us to discuss his experience, the film itself and Awkwafina’s silver fanny pack. Did she wear it to the premiere? Inquiring minds want to know. As an Asian-American, Bryan also discusses how ground-breaking SHANG-CHI is in terms of its cast, director and production team. This is a spoiler-filled discussion.   Because many of us aren’t as familiar with the source material, Sarah shares the comic book origins of Shang-Chi, the Ten Rings and a few Fun Facts she found in her research. Be sure to also read about the making of the film in this article!   Then check out Bryan Lee's incredible Shang-Chi cosplay and tons of pictures from the World Premiere on his instagram:             View this post on Instagram
